I'm hoping to be at Waukeegan in the mid to late morning Wed. Anyone else going up there from the city around that time?

Yo,
I'm new to the area but planning on heading out tomorrow from Rockford.
Hoping to fly my 7m since the 9 is leaking... Anyone got predictions whether that'll work?

It's really hard to say without knowing your weight. I'd need a HUGE wind to get my butt out of the water on a 7m.

TAFs show 23-34mph at 220. On the water it will be more. That's 7m weather considering i'm 200 and was on my 8m this am. I think keegs will be super gusty so i am leaning on passing. I've ridden enough gusty days in my life..and 200-220 deg is barely sideshore at keegs which is usually very gusty due to land torn winds. Will make the decision in the am.

hmmm... tomorrow is my opening to kite and I really want to get out, I don't really want to ride all the way up to Waukeegan from the west side for gusty wind.
Kitekid, maybe I'll come out to Naperville and check out the soccer fields on mountain board. I'm seeing different things on different forecasts for tomorrow. Can you call me? 3.1.2..7.3.1..3.1.2.8.
Any updates from the ground as early as possible from Waukeegan would be most appreciated too! I know I can see the buoy readings, but there's nothing like a kiter's perspective from the beach.

I'm still planning on being there. I'm aiming to arrive around 10:00 or so, since that's looking like when the wind is going to start a-blowin'. I'm going to bring the 10m and the 7m. Hope to see you out there!

And where would the mountainboards be used? I would have no problem bringing it, but I don't know where I'd use it.

bring ur leaky 7s or ur mountain boards with an 11....
??? if you need a 7m on water, you'd need less on land like a 3m or 4m. 11m makes no sense. Please no one put up an 11m on land today.
Currently 21-25kts @ 190 looks actually pretty good. Not sure what will happen when it goes ballistic. Hopefully doesn't shift more west over there...

Everybody gettin way hi and outta bounds but he stole the show with all that yank. Good crew with everybody maxin there stuff. side off into some glasssssy wave hits made it all good.

Giant up here.
From glass to 12 ft in 5 hours. How about that?
I saw the longest single wave ride on a kite in my life. The wave was perfect and this guy Amer just hit it forever.
Very challenging. I got rejected and sent back to the beach 3 times in a row. That's a good way to burn a half hour.
Totally worth it for the handful of outstanding rides.
Not a day you could get off the couch for. Quite a few spectators in wetsuits.
