Most of these are around 20-25, but I think there is one of mike doing a 35ft. He was up there for awhile. Lenten regularly does 50 footers and higher. The Lenten Megaloop challenge or whatever it was had people recorded on GPS something in the mid 80 foot range. I don't find it that unbelievable and they are 60%+ higher then Bryce is claiming. Let's have a Boost-off in Hatteras and we can sort this out. 8)

First off big jumps r 4 chumps. haaa yeah but if ur a chump... then that vid above has nothing to do with what saturday was doing for mike. This day was just a whole other league that few left the water or the beach for at mc. If there is one thing this guy does really well; its load up and launch as high as ANYONE can go. Hes not throwing a mega loop up there or even a flip but he is just going way higher than anyone else any given day and flys away just as comfortable. Having seen him in action, he would easily be hitting 50 foot that day and thats very likely from the crest of the wave. Certain days our piers can deflect a strong wind upward to create bizzare lift and if ur wanting to go really big and know the spots for this setup and conditions its there for crazies like mikez to stratofly. He told me, he even had to loop coming down twice to not pendulum.damnzzzzz

Maybe I am over exaggerating. I didn't realize calling out 50 ft airs would hurt the forums credibility, and right now I have no evidence.

All I know is that they were some monster jumps like I haven't seen before. It was blowing 35 gusting to 45. I couldn't hold down my 7, there were 6ish other kites there on the beach waiting for it to come down. He was on an 8.

Some dude was out taking pictures with a fancy camera and I gave him my email, hopefully those come through.

Whoa!!! Thanks for the kind words guys. With jumps same as with waves, its frequently hard to tell how high it really is. Honestly i think its more important that you are enjoying yourself, if it feels good, thats more important. If the waves feel good then enjoy. It was easily 35-40 knots on Saturday's morning session and I was having a blast :D. Like Scottie said my bag of tricks is super limited lately :D so I just enjoy going high when i can.

I would say 50 ft is probably ambitious but again i think it is really hard to tell. I have been kiting 9 years and can never tell you if a jump is 35 or 40 or 50 feet.
Same with waves. About a week ago i went out in the "forecasted 15 footers" and i could not tell you how big they were, just that they were much much bigger than me. Still was super fun and thats what counts i reckon.

For reference, this photo was taken in february and it was a slightly little less windy than Saturday morning, but same kite.

it kind of proves my point. How high is that? I have no clue. At first doesnt seem high, but if you look carefully its at the very least 8 body lengths, which if you underestimate my body since im crouching to be 5ft (im 6'3") still ends up being 40ft. Saturday felt bigger, but might not have been.

Anyway point is, I try to never argue with my friends about how high whose jumps are. The important thing is the feeling. I know when you are learning the first time you go 10 feet out of the water you feel like you are on top of the world, and that's the feeling I am still (happily) chasing.

Yeah I like the Purple and Neon Orange Jump suit too.

I've seen some Madtown photos that do justice as well.

the beauty of that video is its just of a regular kid.. he has no sponsors, no free gear.. he only has one 2011 streched out 8M kite and one board. I have for the record seen Artem go 50 feet in sheboygan before.
