How NOT to sound cheesy... Well, I won't even try...
I can't think about many other circumstances (other than being stuck in an elevator) in which a Ph.D. writing software for MRI machines, a lead signer in a Van Halen tribute band, a financial adviser, a high-power corporate attorney, an CPA, a building contractor, a translator, a computer security guru, and a wonderfully free-spirited kiting instructor would be united in a common purpose. Not to mention the age, national origin, or income differences ... None of which mattered...
Even though timing for me was all wrong (tons of work I couldn't reject > very short sleep to get some kiting > being both dead tired and unpleasantly high on pure adrenaline), kiting was awesome. I did 6 downwinders that taught me a ton, had some flat-water fun jumping higher than ever before, and a true pleasure seeing people progressing from what-the-hell-I'm-doing-here to eeeeehhhaaa!
Mike, you're a true charmer - of people and Elements.
See you all on the beach!
