Need kite repair stores/people

Jens watched me do "the flying squirrel" and I had the bar backwards as I regained control. Kite Tomahawks with HUGE force. I cringed. Big fat canopy tear from Leading edge all the way up the main strut. Bladders are fine.

I know some of you guys know people, so let me have it. I've heard of someone in Texas and Florida that do good work for cheap. Let me know what you got! Local is cool too and could be cheaper with shipping involved

You can try North Sails in downtown.I walk in there last year with kite in hand and ask as politely as possible if they can fix my kite,sure made them know that Im not in rush.,kite was clean as possible.Got it back after week or so.

You can take pictures and ask for quote in advance.They will send you bill after you receive kite back and all looks good to you.I send them lots of friends and everyone was super happy.They always done amazing job,take a look around their web.
note,I have no tie to them,just putting up what did work great for me in past. +they were incredibly inexpensive.

I highly recommend Bob (and Sandra)Thompson... Super fast, high quality repair and very reasonable pricing, just got one of my kites fixed by them couple weeks ago.

ProKitesurf in Corpus does excellent work. JEff Howard has had a kite shop and production facility for years. He makes giant promotional kites you have to winch up and down. He is also one of the founding members of PASA - Kitesurfing.

The most expensive part was shipping the kite down and paying for shipping back (I was living in the middle of nowhere).

I end up pricing out a lot of them and I went with North Sails here locally on Clybourn in Chicago. Since I saved on shipping and they were able to do it for cheap I let them at it.

Total Bill: $75.83

I'm attaching pictures, but the best part, was when I came back to inspect it i thought I was looking at the wrong strut at first. I seriously couldn't find where they fixed it. The color matching and quality of work was very good. I do recommend for a 1 day turn around and great work.

I'll second north sails...they do good work, though I haven't thrashed a kite to that point in a couple years. Actually if you have access to a sewing machine (ahem) you can do the work yourself if you have some patch pieces of ripstop or an old kite and don't care about color matching. I sewed two kites for the cost of about $3 and still have a ton of thread left. Probably saved myself $120 plus gas and hours of my time in traffic roundtrip since I live in the burbs. More upside...kites were repaired in an hour rather than waiting for days. Just shake the sand out well before bringing it into the house!
