Any update on how things are coming?

If I had one suggestion it would be to make a better Where To Ride section on the main page. Decoding those directions is difficult, especially while driving...

It would be nice to see a google maps link so that you can click it and be done, For Example:

Hey, I can help yah on this. I've already created something like this for SUP. Don't make stars make a My places and link that. Waaay more useful and cohesive. Plus you can add instructions/where to park/warnings etc to help everyone out. Downside is that it's not Wiki like so you can only reccomend changes and not make them yourself. Someone has to stay on top of this once in a while. Thankfully beaches don't move around too often......or maybe they do with Global warming

^^Zoom in on the North Ave Launch site. This was proposed as the official map for the CPD (Parks) to know where it is legal to SUP. Hope that helps

When I click on your link (logged in to gmail as me) I get my own starred map, not yours. I don't see what you see. I see my stars for work. If I log in as chicagokiteboarder, I will see those stars I made. If I click on MyPlaces, I just see addresses for each...

I can make the google account for chicagokiteboarding public for everyone to use but not sure if that is a good idea since my name is tied to it...? and I don't think that will solve the issue for users with multiple maps/logins like me?

Which brings another good point that this has already been thought of and you can us any of those start-ups that are trying to compile this the world around. I thinking of sites like kitespot or kitebeach or something and I think kiteforum is doing something too. Start-ups are great, but as you know, they can die too. Sweet part about Gmaps are that they can export KML so you can move it around sites alot easier.

What do you think V?

It's taken a little bit of time, but we have gotten lots done on the back end, and have a test site up and running that has some significant changes to it so far, including a major board upgrade. We should start to see some new features popping onto the site more rapidly now that we are in a good position. If there is significant stuff coming up, I will give you a heads up. There should be minimal to no downtime while upgrades are happening, but I will make sure it is during off hours and notify you guys in advance as well. Thanks again to everyone that is pitching in on this!

We made a pretty significant upgrade the version of the board today that should add some new features, make it more secure, and make everything work better overall. Please click around and let me know if you see any issues as a result of the upgrade.

This is the first in a long line of upgrades to the site that we will be doing over the course of several months. Future ones will be more noticeable in terms of features. More information coming soon.

Thanks again Brandon, V, Adrien and everyone else who is working on these updates or has maintained this site. It is most appreciated! I don't think I would have been able to get into kiting at this time in my life without this forum and I'm sure that is true for others.

Took a look at the site, didn't really notice anything. Must be all backend for now. Really happy this is all moving along :D

Sailfish - I haven't done anything so far. Not sure exactly who is working on this. Is it one of your guys Brandon? I'm always here for help of course.

Adrien,
Credit where it is due for sure! From earlier parts of the conversation it sounded like you help clear out the spam, so that is what I meant by "help maintain the site". I'm just trying to express my appreciation for all that goes into it.

Are all of the locations on the map link you posted legal places to SUP, as in I won't get a ticket from some officer who should be locking up the dealers on the block next to my house?
