Grass Lake Snowkite Saturday Mar 2

Thinking of heading out to grass lake again on Saturday, probably get there around 11:00-12:00. Wind forecast looks a little light but maybe ok.

Any info on the current snow/ice conditions? Haven't been out there since last weekend. Hoping that it's not a slushy mess.

It may be a little slushy below the snow but its going to be below freezing for the next few days so it may be good for Sat.

had a nice after work session today, pretty much had entire lake just for myself, snow/ice is still good, there is some slush under the snow crust especially close to the shore but not a big deal, will probably freeze overnight as temperature is dropping right now...

was a very nice day overall with a lot of sunshine, wind very light at first but then it did pick up around 2.30 and lasted till 5pm...

I know there are boards designed for snow kiting, do you use one of those or are you making it work with a snowboard and if so, what is it like with the snowboard on the kind of conditions normal for grass lake?

this year I finally got to use my Aboards Reverse which is a dedicated snowkiting board (last winter was too warm) and definitely this is a very nice toy... it tracks and holds edge much better due minimal sidecut on the heel side and reverse camber, was it worth $500? at 10 sessions per winter season around here may be not, but if someone doesn't have a snowboard already or can ride it often then I'm sure it is worth checking out...
