Keegs will work well, but if the conditions turn out as predicted, Montrose will be epic! Nothing better then that rare East or South East wind. So if you are close by in Chicago come try it out. Hit me up before you go cause the conditions have to be just right. Advanced riders only though. Hope to see some out there.

No matter where you go, I have a feeling it's gonna be goooood

Yeah I'm getting a hold of him (photoguy) now. It's not a North wind so any crowd won't be in the water in our way.

I'm going to try to hit up keegs tomorrow. Hopefully in the afternoon though when that 60 degree weather shines through...

Holy shit holy shit! It's here and it's going to be pumping. Looks like the rain for the most part is heading north. I'm going to go get some now with a confirmed few others. It's a tight spot out there so make sure to keep those kites low or high if you are passing people. On these days we actually meet by the bird fence instead of the dog fence.

25 knots and butter water. DROOL 8) :D

Montrose 9am - 4pm... rode from 930-1030 and sat on the beach the rest of the day

Today was not the amazing day we all expected, bummer.

Anyone get anything good at KEEGS?

Wolf Lake 4 pm till 6:30. I think we need to rename Wolf "Lake hole in the wind". Wind 12-30; perfect kite: 8-10-12; Whiplash City with 4-5 holes... and they move around a bit! Screaming one minute and suddenly you either fall over backwards or sign n' sink...then SNAP and you're back to screaming. WOW what a rodeo!

forecast never materialized... Keegs was challenging with light on shore wind and small but punchy waves, later wind switched to NNE  so we got some rides in the pool behind the jetty before leaving at 5.30

I think the ground actually heated up enough to make a thermal block from the very cold water. Great at first, then sun heats it up - wind gone, sun back down - wind is back. If wolf lake was punchy then that makes sense too.

We had a decent run in the morning on 10's and 12's, but the afternoon dropped to damn near zero knots. It sort of picked back up by the time we all left. Not a great day, but we got to play in the water for a few hours. Good laughs on the beach

So put it to the memory bank and remember what did happen for next time on this setup..

fyi.For E(or ESE) to make it all the way to the beach you need to go ride super early or which is the case for most strong E direction,Rainnnnnnnn.Thats why usually when you see big numbers on forecast from east, its coming with the storm or rain.No rain=no bueno!

That said I haven't had bad day on the beach yet no matter what :D

When it rains it's a beast from the east! It rained a little in the morning. Storm was supposed to be closer to us, but it went too far Northeast. Bummer after 11:00.
