To sum it up: It was scarier on land than on water, I've never seen Montrose that good.
There was just 2 of us at the beginning, before 2 pm, and it required a huge leap of faith to get into wetsuits because frankly, the amount of sand blowing into your eyes wasn't fun, and all these people in winter jackets and hoods... you know the drill
At the beginning it was quite gusty but then it was getting better and better, the steadier wind, the nicer shapes and sizes of waves.
When I was leaving the beach just before 5, there were 9 kites in the water. Rode my 7 m all the time, half-way powered when the wind backed off a bit, initially completely depowered.
Big, long waves, some really nice ones by the pier, glassy, shiny water between them, nice little ramps close to the launch spot, well used by The Big Boyz.
I'm curious how it worked out for you guys at Casino, and Zion.
