Alright, Casino didn't look good by the time I left from work in the afternoon so I decided to head E with a little hope to get some leftovers.

While driving in Saint Joseph I was excited to see the lake still pumping waves and feeling the wind strong coming to shore. However, by the time I got to the beach all the kites where down, sitting on the sand while everyone was talking about how good it was earlier in the day.

I thought: "darn, I totally missed it...and I also left my SUP at home so I can't even enjoy these beautiful waves", disappointed nonetheless I decided to stay while pretty much everyone left except IVO and Scott...within less than an hour the wind came back just a tad, enough to give it a try.

It was barely enough to stay upwind but I wanted to check those wave formations further out since it was my first time in SJ on a N and I loved it!

IVO was catching countless waves on his surfboard and I was the only one out with a kite.

While the sun was going down the wind picked up more and more, Scott and IVO joined and we enjoyed the sunset with some good rides.

I had one of my best sessions ever on those looong waves cleaned and spaced out by the pier, we kited until dark and drove home with a big grin.

Thanks Mother Michigan!

Sweet stuff Pier, glad y'all got sum. We were hoping to make it all the way down from south haven but fell short by a few miles when she started to back off a little... The lighthouse was in the distance..Waves were amazing and it was a great learning day for me!

Aw yeah, Pier.....man of tremendous faith. Way to shred it up, good thing Ivo was there to provide you the karma you needed my man!!!

yeah with the wind being N to NE all day, the waves were super clean when the wind finally turned a bit onshore. we watched them build from ankle slappers to over head in a matter of a couple of hours. On our downwinder, south beach was smooth and organized in Da Haven, by the time we hit 18th street they were overhead...TG took Big T and Blueberry back to Packard Park and grabbed his 8m cause his 11m was too much....Matt, TG and I took off again and by the time we hit the power plant, IT WAS ON!!!!

The direction of the swell made the waves hinge towards shore, which meant endless peelers all the way down the coast...due to the sand formations offshore at the power plant, the waves always seem to be the biggest in that area. All the way from the outside to the beachbreak the waves were setting up!!! With the sun shining, the waves pumping and the kites criss-crossing the sky....it was just one of them daze........

Pulled in to Hagar Park, just short of St Joe, when the wind backed abit.....Angie was there to pick us up, and much to our delight there was a cooler full of Obes, 2 Hearted, a Torpedo or two, and some Coronas....TG had hit the smokehouse earlier in the day, and there was some venison sausage, herbed white cheddar, sharp yellow cheddar, and some smoked salmon!!!!!! We sat roadside in the park, with the sun splashing through the foliage and warming our shoulders, waves glistening in the distance, and smiles all around....

Just awesome to see Matt rip it up down the coast.....looks like we got ourselves a partner for our downwinders, especially if he keeps bringin' those magical concoctions of his!!!!!!!! Homebrew was tremendous buddy....... :)
