Well, Spring was fun. Only a few sessions, but that's sometimes all it takes. Next week, I start the program that totally consumes me for the summer season, and I am going to shamelessly plug it!
In 2011, I started captaining a small wooden tall ship up here in Traverse City. Monday through Friday I take out high-risk/low income youth Monday through Friday on day sails. Teaching sailing takes a back seat to the one-on-one therapy sessions that each kid receives daily. http://www.sailchampion.org http://www.facebook.com/SAILChampion - Anybody who likes this page gets a free highfive! Anybody who shares it gets a nickel. Anybody who donates gets a 8 year old shortie with a busted zipper (first come first serve)
The reason I took the IKO certification class in November is to reduce the barriers to developing a kitesurf version of this experience-based therapeutic program.
Enjoy the short movie and wish me luck.
