Friday the 19th - Either MC or St Joe

Postby Bryce FLK » Wed Jul 17, 2013 7:59 am

Looks like its going to blow SW pretty good from Friday noon through the day (probably will change).

Ill be working a half day and headed to MC - St Joe or further North depending on direction and storms.

90 degrees air with warm water! Whos ready to play hookie with me?

I'm in! I'm going to wait until Thursday to make a call. Looks like storms are coming with it and if I have to take a chance with storms then I'll head to Wolf, but if it's in the clear MC or St. Joe it is.

Wolf might be a no go... Festival of the Lakes is this weekend and there will be ten thousand people in and around there. Let alone the usual sailing regatta out there. If anyone goes be smart and don't screw it up for us all. There is gonna be heavy police and port authority figures present and heavy bike bath traffic too. Parking is also a major concern and its gonna cost to get anywhere near the launch from my past experience. Be safe.... I took the day off and am headed to Pure Michigan...

Thanks mrgrey! I'll stay away if the storms forecast are headed that way and looking clear for Michigan. If it's the opposite I'll take a shot at wolf. I'd rather ride Michigan on a day like this. My feeling is we'll be dodging thunderstorms all day and we'll pick and choose our times. Looks like a "cold front" after that with hopefully some wind too. IF that materializes it'll be super clean and sunny

I've never been to warren dunes. Doesn't look too bad from google earth. I think I'm gonna go just a few more miles up to St. Joe and get the protection and wave action from the pier. I got the whole day so I'll be there around 10 or so

Was good to get out at S Haven for a few hours of riding between 12 and 5pm....10m and not too many people in the water.

Hands down the best kiting I've had in my short career. Nine kites dancing down the line for 25 miles... sweet stuff.
