Anyone think its worth making the hike today? It's forecasted to be right on the cusp of 15mph.

It's gonna be too offshore at Michigan city from the wind predictions. Better off heading to st. Joe or further north if need be. Hopefully it hits 15mph

Wind predictions are showing WSWish by afternoon, which is alright assuming the W sticks around. The wind might be better a little farther North, like Weko. The only drawback is that it's just more driving.

Wind Report from the beach as of 11:30. Barely blowing enough to make it work. Here's hoping for tomorrow! Unfortunately it looks like more of the same.

I think you might get a kick in around 3-4, it'll be big kite stuff, but probably rideable. Good winds to you though.

Credit for the wind report actually goes to Johnm, but I believe he's left already. All that driving and just a wind report to show for it.

Calmed waaaaay back down. Waiting for some better readings. Looks windy enough downtown though

Nothing special, just forecasts, temps, real time readings, and front movement. We had a WSW front moving through around that time. It's not strong enough for me to go out there, but if I was close I would go take a ride....it's rideable for sure, just not justified for the traffic and light wind.

Not really. At least nothing that won't be more then some lighter wind riding. At best you'll be on a twelve.

On a 12m is better than nothing. It's just the kiting between the gusts that worries me.

For wolf Lake the direction more then anything determines the gusts. On a straight south it's as gusty as any inland lake. On a SW however it's pretty darn smooth. Not 100% like the big lake would deliver, but I can throw down any trick in the flat areas without worrying about gusts/lulls. Look at Google maps. You can see that giant area to the SW that allows smoother air flow. Again, not perfect, but, to me, it beats driving another 2 hours for some wind when I don't have the time.

The 12M comment is best case. I'll head over if something pops in, but I'm definitely not counting on it.
