mack storm

Big storm hit the Chicago to Mackinac fleet. A boat named Wing Nuts capsized and 8 soles went into the water. Six were rescued. There is some wild footage on youtube from Realt na mara from the thick of the storm. It was too dark to film anything, the shots were when the lightning strikes lit up the...

I rode a couple of years ago some miles out from Key West at a place called the flats where the water is just a few inches deep and the sea grass tickles the board and keeps the water calm. It was pretty sick. The glass went on for miles in every direction away from the boating channel. Rode lit on ...

TC

Rorke,
I'll be near TC all next week.
Where do you launch at in the bay?
I'll be on Lake Skegemog and ride on Elk Lake.
It's a tricky downwinder from Elk Rapids to Torch River but that's where the crib is.

Thanks for the lift back. Greg and I chased you on the downwinder for the ride back. We launched again when we got back and the body was still on the beach about a 4 par upwind from where we rigged. Talk about an ominous backdrop: choppers circling, coast guard boats running grids, corpse on the sho...

Call Real in Waves,
They had a shack at the launch and a crib across the road the last time I was there (2 yrs).
They would rent it out and let you launch there with out taking lessons.

Miller

Nicole,
My sister-in-law lives in miller on the beach. She loves it there and comutes to work in Chicago. The area can be a little sketchy away from the beach, but the shoreline is nice. Let me know if you want to talk with her. Jay is on the forum and also lives down there.

Hey Artem, I think that's #39 that I sold to you, that I got used from V, with scars from the oyster beds of corpus and the gash from the blowout in the Gorge. It was good to see it on the water last fall and want to buy it back when your done with it for artwork in my garage.

ok, I just flew in from HR last night so I have some current updates. It cranked every day last week. Saw them riding 5m in 40 kts at Rufus on Friday (too much for me). It blew gusts to 50 at dougs last Thur where the windsurfers went nuts. I had to retreat west each day and rode the sandbar or Lisl...

Temira says: "The pesky offshore low slides inland Thursday and Friday, ramping up Gorge winds into the semi-nuclear range. A chance of showers in Portland combines with sunshine in the desert for a classic Gorge setup". Flying out tomorrow morining. I'll look for you guys.
