Re: Keegs Sunday 6/8

The section of beach next to the big parking lot gets a nice 3 to 6 foot cliff in spring. The ice pushes it up. Smaller one at keegs but it's almost always gone by the time anyone drops by to surf it. The sand bar down south by the dead river is looking good.

Re: Coal Ash Radiation at Keegs

The coal plant is closing after the new lng plant is finished. Drive past the new construction sight at night its looks cool with a big blue building at the north end. It's off the road that is just east of the amstutuz expressway.

Re: Wind-less Kiteboarding (without the kite)

I kind of like the modular electric pod system idea from wavejet. This design does kind of look like a race board design. Wonder how much a small water jet is on ebay.

Re: Dry suit advice

The surf dry is nice. It swims, moves and looks like a wet suit. Only down side is it's out of stock till the 3.0 version is out. I think they are including the preditor in the numbering. Techicaly they made a preditor 1.0 and 1.5 if you count the addition of the extra sizes. It's a dry suit layered...

Re: WTB - Foil kite

I'm looking to get rid of my Speed 3 15m delux. I don't really want to get rid of it but I can afford a new 3 kite edge or x-bow racing quiver without selling some kites. Any interest or would 15m be larger then you need?

I'v got the Wed through Sunday off. Brining my SUP with just in case no wind. Rock festival was cool last year. Always a fun time even when the wind isn't great.

Re: Does anyone have a Race Buoy??

I have used Tide containers for short races. The old standby of hipity hops work good. You can also use ball shape boat fenders. The big tetrahedrons are the best for long legs that need good visablility and they don't hurt when you clip them at 20 knots. I tried that in mexico just to see what it w...

Re: 7/7 Zion Beach - North Wind

Bah.... I'm out of town for the weekend. Careful when landing south of the hotel. The beach is narrow and the grass is razor sharp. Also you can't go south of the dead river mouth. That area is a nature preserve and of limits to humans. If you find yourself drifting on shore in that area do your bes...

Re: Kegan Wed 6/27

It closed at 5:30 so they could add a drainage culvert. Bumber as it was of the chains honkin good wind with butter flat water kicking up a bit as the day went on. Finaly dialed in the coarse board today. Even pulled of a jibe. Bit punch at times but not to bad. It was fairly consistant a bit of a h...

Re: Beginner Chicago Kiter

Waukegan only charges in summer on the weekends. Starting this weekend. It's has a bit more water you can stand up in then Zion. More this season then in the past as we got some nice sand bar action. Still Michigan has more shallow beaches and tends to get better wind in the nice hot summer months. ...
