Re: Keegs Sunday May 17

I'm bailing on the Sunday sesh. Tomorrow looks better. Makes me sad that I won't get to ride with the weekend crew. :(

Keegs Sunday May 17

I can only stick around until about 12... I know, just when it's going to start getting really good, but I'd love to see the crew! Full wetsuits and big kites. I'll be there around 8am, wind or no wind. See out on the water!!!

Re: Kiteboarding Locations Map Update

I've received no input from locals, so I'm going to keep on keepin' on! Many great lakes spots in/around Toronto added. Debating adding lake Erie spots... T-minus 3 weeks for Oklahoma and Kansas spots though!

Oh, and Frank! Can't wait to see ya man!

Kiteboarding Locations Map Update

Many of you remember this map that I have been working on for nearly two years now. It has certainly been a labor of love, and I'm quite proud of us as a community for coming together on it. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zyguk5w-1uO4.kd_StJIWwAWM As of now, I've been in NW Florida for abo...

Re: Updating Midwest Kiteboarding Spots Map

Perfect!

I've added some 50 or so spots today around the Midwest. Eastern South Dakota, Missouri, some GREAT ones in Southern Illinois. Keep the submissions coming! 8)

Re: Updating Midwest Kiteboarding Spots Map

Thanks Bob. I pm'd you for more information about the sites. If anyone has any spots in the Midwest, this isn't just a resource for local riders, but for anyone who travels in the area, so that they can bring their gear with them just in case the wind blows. :D

Updating Midwest Kiteboarding Spots Map

As many of you know, I've spent a lot of time working on the google map for the Midwest. I'm no longer living in the area, but still adding spots as I am informed of them or dig them up on blogs from all over the Midwest. If you have a spot that is not on the page, but that you would like up, please...

Re: Recommend a GPS watch

I have a buddy who swims with the Nike GPS running watch. No issues with that. I know there are some guys who use Garmin watches though. Unfortunately, the technology isn't great enough that these are all 100% waterproof for life. They tend to have an issue after a year if you use them in the water ...

Re: Montrose 2014.

Shallow, flat water at Montrose could make for a great training ground for unhooked stuff! And it might keep beachgoers away too!

There are some Clinton Lake launches in the Great Lakes Area map on the "where to ride" section. They are updated as of 2013.

Any update from the Madison crew? Can someone let me know about the conditions in the morning? It'll be my last opportunity to kite in the Midwest for a while.

I've got a big boy job now!

Well, the day has finally arrived. I've gotten my orders to report to Officer Training School for the Air Force. With any luck it won't be long before I'm a fighter pilot. I'm reporting to Maxwell AFB on Tuesday morning, so I will probably return infrequently and with my luck, the wind won't blow wh...

The only difference, Bob, is that the powerlines are SUPER far away. MUCH more than 300ft away.
