Re: Sharing favorite wave spots

Speaking of waves....there may be some fun little rollers Saturday in south haven. Nice north coming. Me I have to work a double shift. 2 gigs Saturday so I will be out of the mix, but for you weekend warrior types....it should be ON! So come to SoHa and ride some waves. There is my invitation to yo...

Re: Sharing favorite wave spots

I'd love to have some friends to ride with on a good wave day. Most of my buddies head out on downwinders which leaves the whole spot to myself. I'm usually the only one out in the lineup besides the surfers. Last week in st joe was beautiful but again just me. So Cory....lets ride. I usually don't ...

Re: TUE 18th mc NE bliss

You called it. It was killer all day in st joe. I was the only rider all day there. Wind and waves were steady all day. More riders showed up after work. Although the waves were small waist to shoulder high they were clean long reforming perfection. Wind direction was excellent. Super powered on the...

Re: Close Call on the rocks of Lake Superior

Now a days I think most all kiters are lulled into complacency. The sport has been around for 10 or so years now and most riders have their stuff dialed in now.......gear is much safer too....which has led to the overall complacent attitude regarding safety.....most really don't care until its too l...

Re: LSP Michigan June 14th

I'm not even close to a guru, but the answer is YES. Chances are good in June it will be hot and southerly and you may get a session or two. Plus...You'd kill yourself if you didn't bring your stuff and it did blow that weekend. The LSP/Muskegon area is one of the windiest stretches on this side of ...

Re: Michigan Wave Mecca

True words jens. True. I have noticed that at least in my neck of the woods, most kiters don't even begin to venture out into the waves. Most just prefer to hug the pier and stay in the flattest water they can find. I see it everywhere I ride. In MK it seems as if all Kiters exclusively ride inside ...

Re: Tics at Waukegan.

They are everywhere on the coast right now. Took a walk with daisy and she had 2 and I got one on my knee. Hate em. They lurk in the tall grass. Seems the coastal areas get them really bad. They are huge at LSP. Tons. They are like the Borg.

Re: Michigan Wave Mecca

Scott, what's your fav wind direction for casino? I do want to check it out sometime. This is one of the spots on my check it out list. Just never seem to get that far down I94......I'm usually going north.

Re: Michigan Wave Mecca

Yeah hsp is nice on strong south. But there are much better spots further north that will blow your mind on a south wind. In my limited travels, I've found north MK is unreal and even further north is the honey hole which is the best wave I've ever seen or ridden on a south wind. I have yet to ride ...

Re: GREAT LAKES SUMMER KITING

Funny. I had over a dozen sessions on my 6m last summer. It is a good idea to bring your small kites....especially if plan on riding anywhere north of Muskegon. I search for strong thermal conditions....not frontal.....although cold fronts do come in an bring my good ol friend El Norte towards the e...

Re: Looking for Holland, MI report?

Holland may be a good call for Thursday. Most of my buddies are heading up to LSP area for the all day blow. Me... I gotta work later that night so Im not doing the big drive, but Holland just may be the ticket for a good session. Holland works great on a south but can be fickle and go side off at t...

Re: SIK SAT 8th

Got some tasty leftovers yesterday at the home break in SoHa. A nice 12m day for me. Went from 3pm to 7pm. even got invited on a blueberry downwinder. The waves were small but clean in my wave pool near the blue stairs. Much cleaner than on the DW. It was hard to find anything really rideable on the...

Re: SIK SAT 8th

Sounds like some folks had a fun day yesterday. I played my wedding gig in Detroit yesterday......now I'm ready for some left overs......hopefully the masses are sore from yesterday and I'll get my little wave pool all to myself. Looking like el Norte visits this afternoon and evening.....my leftove...

Re: SIK SAT 8th

Saturday is looking BIG.
If I didn't have to work in Detroit Saturday I'd be hanging out at Silver Beach all day.
If it goes 30 kts from the north the entire southern basin is going to be heavy.

Get on some of that!

Hoping for leftovers on Sunday.

Oh....and let's not forget that our water is multiple hues of blue and green.....you can see to the bottom .......the water feels good and even tastes good when you take some down the hatch........ That is not the case in good old HR. water is brown.....stinky and feels a tad slimy when you get done...
