It's looking like South Haven for me tomorrow. I wish it wasn't so far North, but with the amount of West in the wind, Michigan City is out.

Yes, the second it turns from NNW to NW, Keegs is offshore. That's not normally a risk I like taking, since I like kiting all day whenever/wherever I go.... and it's likely to happen at Keegs, since the wind is shifty. I'd rather not be on the water if that happens, and I'd rather not be sitting on the beach when that happens either. But if it's all you've got and you know the risks, just make sure you're safe. :D

Great SUPing here now as the waves have built, 10-15 surfers out
Glassy chest to head on bigger sets
Very strong N wind line about a mile or two out
I'd rather be Rollerblading

wanted to go as well. Looks like SH had 20-22 kts all day. Could have been worth it with a 12m and big board. But I feel like if I drove it there would have been skunks on the beach...too marginal a forecast to drive 4 hours through holiday traffic.

St Joe's was ripping it from 3pm onwards. About 8 or so riders out. Was awesome! You guys should have driven the extra 30 min from Michigan City!! #totallyworthit

The only driving we had to do at mc was on our kites!!! after another outrageous glassy groundswell surf session with my 16yrs old and friends, 3pm hit and so did the switch to white caps across the swell. great direction and nuggets bowling down the line. Huge crowd watching the action and about 10 kites took at it. really fun and right on time. killer working out aerials off the lip on an sup!! and then with a kite. who would think all that on a lake as blueee/greeeeeen and warm as any carribean ocean

meter still says 21knots out there!! am???

Yes, it apparently kicked in around 4 everywhere on the SE side of the lake.... just when I was leaving. It figures.

St Joe was beautiful. Riding till almost sunset. Wind kicked even better around 6 with just few people on the beach and few kiters it was magical.

yeah and maybe i should keep my mouth shut but when the thermals are on they start at mc and often just confined to this beach! NE is an amazing direction that keeps pumping the waves bigger and more nugget-licious than other spots that angles them over the sandbars where hits can be soooo special. Especially nice if you had the buoy running a north all day and then at the beach ur getting that special NE. THe waves have a nice power nugget thing going being its the last stop on the tour! If the buoy is producing you can find the goods down there one way or the other. no need to drive any further on that set-up but nice to space it out on the beaches :D :D

Had my eye on Montrose all night then realized about 4:30 am it just wasn't gonna happen. Shifted gears and pointed the crew MC bound. Those who got there early got it good then after 11, about 15 kites parked on the MC beach for hours, patiently waiting for the bump. 1 sacrifice about 3p and then it was on shortly after! Built all the way past sunset.... sweetness from the upper deck at Matey's after....
