Postby tog0713 » Mon Jun 16, 2014 1:03 pm

Am up from St. Pete for the summer. Forecast for Tiscornia looks good for tomorrow. Is anyone else thinking of going over??

Tim

Looks like rain headed that way. I hope the locals score before and after it hits!

South haven was great while it lasted. Blew 25-30 side shore
From 8-11 then let up for a bit then blew 20
From 12-1:30. Great time. No rain. Storm got absorbed by
lake. Silver beach pizza has to be the best post sesh
Stop around!

It did die. In fact it blew the opposite direction from the forecast. The south end of the lake is a wind black hole vortex.

Also, the biting flies are out in force.

Seems to me that in springtime with the lake water still cold the lake sucks the energy out of a west wind. Remember this happening in previous Junes at Miller. I got to Tiscornia 11ish on Tuesday and missed all the early morning fun. Have always thought June a lousy kiting and windsurfing month around Chicago when May can be a very good month.

Am here till mid September and am hoping for some nice Northern thermals in late summer. Hope to see the gang on the beach soon. Have a new quivver of Peter Lynn Charger II foils including a monster 22.5m kite that work very well with my home made mostly carbon boards.

Regards,
Tim

...yes it seems to be the case Tim. Water temps still incredibly low, and is funking up that warm SWesterlies....there has been very limited kiting at LSP, and that is a definite indicator with us damn near into July!! Hoping we get a 4 or 5 day flow to get the Big Lake jumpstarted soon...that or just get ready for the N all summer long...

Hope to see you on the water soon buddy....and ready to check out your craftsmanship
