Correct me if I'm wrong, but the hot warm is from the south is what is moving. If you cool that down the wind will stop......sooooo...at the cold surface of the water the warm air stops moving. It usually picks backs up later in the day as the overall air starts to cool off again. It's exactly the opposite of a thermal where cool air rises once it hits hot land meaning air has to get sucked in from the sea.

Interesting,
I've looked at he meeter in Kenosha and it shows nice wind all day , Kegs shows no wind or very unstable.
Kenosha anemometer is located 20m above the site
Kegs anemometer is only 9m above the site
Then Jochi posted this :
OBSERVATIONS FROM SITES WITH ANEMOMETERS WELL ABOVE THE STANDARD 10M HEIGHT...INCLUDING THOSE FROM LARGER COMMERCIAL BOATS ON THE LAKE...WILL SEE SOME STRONGER WINDS ESPECIALLY TOWARD THE UPWIND SHORES AS STRONG MIXING OVER LAND REACHES A SHORT DISTANCE OUT OVER THE WATER BEFORE HIGHLY LAMINAR FLOW DOMINATES.
So just get 30m lines, fly you kite high and you may be Ok

Yup, was blowing a bit in the late morning when i got to keegs, died by the time I got set up, got a good 20 minutes of riding in about two hours later, then right when I had to take off (about 4pm) it picked up again. Damn you thermal block!!!
But still, nice to be outside again!
