New to the Chicago Kite Scene

Post by pmmclean » Sun Jun 03, 2018 12:59 pm

Hi everyone,

Anyone riding 8m, 9m or 10.5m kites in the Chicago area? Can it be done if you’re around 160 lbs, or does the wind rarely get high enough to ride? Also unrelated, but anywhere local to get small canvas tears replaced? I’m looking for something a bit faster than Airtime.

Thanks,

PM

You could've been riding your 8m for a few hours at Lake St. beach during a supercharged wind blast yesterday. I probably use a 15m or 17m most of the Summer as the lightwind thermals kick in. If you don't 'mind traveling up the East or West coast of Lake Michigan, your bound to find some stronger wind as well. I trust airtime for my repairs but maybe Doyle Sails on Damen would do the trick in the time you need. Good luck and hit me up if you need more info.
