Video Editing Software.

Post by Safe_Cracker » Wed Mar 23, 2011 12:07 am

Curious, what is everyone using to edit their HD videos? I got a copy of AVS 5.2 but it can only handle 30fps, kinda crappy when you go through all the trouble of filming it at 60fps. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.. Polo

Mac - Final Cut Pro or iMovie does a good job
Windows - Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 or Sony Vegas

Use torrents to get them all

Ya I was scoping Sony Vegas was just unsure about it. Thankyou for the input. I guess if you want to post them on youtube it really don't matter they limited to 30fps anyways... Polo..

well when viewing you don't want more then 30fps as that is just a waste of bitrate. 60fps is great for nice smooth slow motion...that's about it.

60fps is also good for watching youtube on the big plasma, 30fps is just to blurry :D Polo

Power director
works really well, lot of things to download later. only software to use all processors, so rendering goes really fast.
download a demo

Nope. That's just your computer being slow. Don't worry it's common with the .H264 codec they use...you need a pretty good computer to play it smoothly at 1080 and even 720p

Power director is good too. Adobe Premiere only works in 64bit and that uses all procs too. It's very fast too especially for its capabilities.

Polo, whichever you use, just know that there is a learning curve to do it all. It'll be complicated and frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it the movies start popping out faster and faster lol.

Hmmmm, how is it the computer being slow? There is a HUGE difference in speed and motion blur from 30 fps and 60fps, you can see it. If it was the computer then it would have a harder time playing the 60fps media and not the 30fps media. I get super smooth play on 60fps on both 720 and 1080P but 30fps suffers from blur because it is only 1/2 the frames(at normal play speed). Now 30fps works great as long as the camera or the object you are filming aren't moving all that fast but for faster action you want a higher speed. If I am wrong I don't know how but maybe you can explaine it :D

Question about torrents. Is there a concern about viruses?

30fps is plenty fast and you shouldn't get motion blur. That might be the codec you are using or how it's re-encoded in youtube. You are right about it all. Odd situation you have.

Torrents can have viruses, but 99% of them don't. Just have virus protection like AVG (it's free) and go to torrenttree.com you'll find everything there.

Please please please take it from a computer tech. DON'T USE AVG FREE EDITION!!!! 70% of the customers I help with virus removals is because they run with a free AntiVirus Software like AVG. The best scanner you can get is called MalwareBytes.Free version and paid version. This will take care of a lot of problems!

On topic:
Check out the piratebay.org as well  or use a newreader and download NZB files. With a good payed server it will take 30 min to download something.

Just some information

Really? AVG is bad? I don't use it or anything, but I've only heard good things. I'll look it up thanks for letting me know. Now let's stop geeking out and get to kiting!! :D
