Hi,
I am visiting family all along Lake Michigan at the end of July. I was wondering if it is worth bringing my kite gear. And if so, what size kites do people ride on the lake? I am around the 155 lb mark.
Also, any tips on where to kite between Chicago and Sheboygan (my two destinations)?
Thanks!
Nicole

Hi Nicole
After almost a year of seeing your post someone will finally reply to you, ME.
The July wind sucks around here, it's hot humid and no wind. Maybe a storm front the passes by every other week. The humid winds are out of the West, SW so Michigan is best Maybe.
Sheboygan has thermals late in the day till evening at unexpected times, so we here in the Chicago area are called "Wind Chasers". (anyone want to make a documentary?) Kinda like "Storm Chasers" but with less danger. The bottom line
is in July put Helium in your kite.
