Might be too early to say but...... Sunday Feb 26

Post by Dutchkiteboarder » Tue Feb 21, 2012 8:17 am

Waukegan/Zion for coming Sunday looks pretty sweet! 40s and 20 mph wind all day. Rain is expected that day unfortunately too but only 30%. Like I said it is probably way too early to tell but lets keep our hopes up. Wanna pull my new board out and hit the water for a couple of hours. Keep an eye out for Sunday people.

The forecast for the weather looks good so far. Sunshine! Now lets cross our fingers that the wind will stay what it is!

I'll probably be there taking pictures/video from the sidelines (unless someone has a row boat).

If anyone has a landboard, feel free to bring em. I don't know if mine will arrive in the mail by then.

Here's a picture I shot of the only day with snow in Chicago. I'm looking to get some more with water and ice on Sunday...

So far looking good! Ikitesurf talks about 22mph wind all day and around 40 degrees. WindAlert is talking about gusts up to 40mph! Not sure how to believe WindAlert anymore. Windfinder 18 knots for the day. Ehhh think the only way to get this straight is to drive out on Sunday.

Ill be there early around 9.30 or so for a early morning session. Hope some one else will be joining that early for a great day of wind :D

Thinking of coming out to observe and learn a little from anyone willing to trade some insight for a few chilly ones.

Wait for this storm to pass today and then we'll see how the wind behind it is forming. I've mentioned this before, but models don't work when a storm is coming through. Experience and a meteorologist that posts up will have a better sense of what's behind that storm.

Looking good here. I'm not sure if Wolf is unfrozen. I guess I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Going to be the early bird. Heading out around 9AM should be at Waukegan around 9.30. We should get some sunshine tomorrow! 9 meter and smaller kite weather. Finally get to try my new board! And first water experience of the GoPro!!!

Snowkiting was fun. Perfect snow to build kickers. Stopped by waukegan on way home but did not look epic enough to justify going in coldwater and starting to shift offshore. Would have been cool to ride snow and water in same day haha :P
